It was a very long day for Bolton Wanderers. Bolton tried their best to win in their first game in the 2009-2010 English Premier League against Sunderland but they didn’t make it. Sunderland striker, Darren Bent, was so hot in the field and gave his team their first score in just five minutes of the game. Bolton’s goalkeeper, Jussi Jaaskelainen, tried to stop the ball from reaching the net but it was just too late. Fabrice Muamba back to back with Sean Davis received yellow card, 65 minutes and 67 minutes in the game.
Steve Bruce, new manager of Sunderland who replaced Ricky Sbragia, was impressed by his team performance because even though the game was held at Reebok Stadium. This victory against Bolton is a good start under Bruce management. Bruce has three-year contract in Sunderland. Bruce together with his assistant, Erick Black, reserve-team coach Keith Bertschin and goalkeeping coach Nigel Spink is expected to put Sunderland in good standing this season.
