Premier League: Everton vs Arsenal

By: Roby Hilson @ Sunday, August 16, 2009

The 2009-2010 Premier League last game yesterday, August 15, 2009, was the match between Everton and Arsenal. Over 39,000 attendees went to see the Everton vs Arsenal match at Goodison Park which started at 17:30.

Arsenal opened the Premier League with a big bang as it dug Everton in a 5-point lead. It was not the first time for Everton to experience a 5-point lead loss in their home game but that happened already in 1958. It was just very disappointing that Everton experienced this kind of defeat for the second dtime and the most irritating part is that it happens in the Premier League opening day. They weren’t able to cope with Arsenal’s play. Everton’s French forward Louis Laurent Saha was the only one scored on that game. He have scored during the injury time at 90 minutes of the game.

Arsenal midfielder, Denilson Pereira Neves, gave the team their first score at 26 minutes in the game. This was followed by defender Thomas Vermaelen at 37 minutes which was assisted by Van Persie’s free kick. And before half time, center back William Eric Gallas, added another free kick. Everton’s defense is really worst.

After the break, Arsenal was still in good tune as Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas added another two goals at 48 and 69 minutes in the game. At this time, Everton really looks hopeless to win their home game. Gunners fans were cheering that the Toffees just wanted to finished off the game because of this embarrassment. But the Gunners is still on fire as they took their sixth goal of the game at 88 minutes. Arsenal winger Andrey Arshavin shot had come back off a post but their striker Eduardo Alves Da Silva made it to the goal.
