After five months on the sidelines, Arsenal striker Robin van Persie may return to the field to play a must-win Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspurs at White Hart Lane on Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Van Persie has been recovering after suffering ankle ligament problem while playing for Holland in an international friendly against Italy in November last year.
Arsenal team has not released official statement whether van Persie is 100% fit but some reports states that with the help of several months of gym workouts and swimming, the Dutch player is close to fitness. He has apparently been training and preparing for his comeback and Daily Mail said that he may take part on next week’s game against Wigan Athletic or he may return immediately on Wednesday’s clash against Spurs.
Arsenal currently seats on the third place with 71 points, just two points behind Manchester United and three points behind Chelsea. Gunners star players Cesc Fabregas, Andrey Arshavin, and William Gallas were ruled out because of injury and they’ll be missing the remaining games in the Premier League.

Since the three were out, the goalscoring potential could be vital in the Premier League run-in so in this situation, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger may risk van Persie on Wednesday’s north London derby clash at Tottenham in a bid to remain within touching distance for this year’s Premier League title.
