January 10, 2011 – The 2011 BCS National Championship game features the game between two unbeaten teams, Auburn Tigers vs Oregon Ducks, live on ESPN and ESPN3.com tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET. Auburn vs Oregon live match will be held at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Oregon and Auburn are both newbies in BCS. It will be an important game for both teams for they’re both aiming to grab their first ever BCS bowl trophy.
Tigers started the season with a good win against Arkansas State, 52-26. The 2010 Heisman winner Cameron Newton was the top performer in that game. He ran for 171 yards and two TDs and passed for 186 yards. This junior college transfer from Florida was like a veteran in Auburn team. His moves and plays made Auburn bad plays into good ones. Coach Gene Chizik was impressed in Cam Newton’s performance. His good plays continues in their second game against Mississippi State. It was a 17-14 victory where he completed 11 of 19 passes for 136 yards, the two TDs and one interception.
Newton’s greatness continued until their last game in the regular season against South Carolina Gamecocks. Tigers finished the season with a perfect record beating South Carolina 56-17.
Meanwhile, Oregon is very good in offense. They’re like scoring machines opening the season with 72-0 win over New Mexico. Three Ducks’ aces running back Kenjon Barner, quarterback Darron Thomas, and wide receiver Jeff Maehl were unstoppable in that game. Aside from scoring game, the Ducks didn’t let New Mexico score in the entire game. Ducks’ outstanding game against New Mexico was repeated in their game against Portland State in September 18, 2010. Thomas, Maehl, and running back LaMichael James were top performers in that game. In an interview with ESPN, James said that despite winning against Portland, he was disappointed to himself because his play lacked something.
Who will be the 2011 BCS National Champion? Is it going to be Oregon or Auburn?

Shame on you for not throwing Auburn #32 from the game after that shameful conduct throwing a knee at his downed opponent. I am no Oregon fan, but that conduct is an example of the hateful conduct being shown in America, and being admired in some sectors, in todays sports and political worlds. Shameful.
why is no one talking about every player on both teams slipping on the field…the field was replaced between bowl games…and the turf is flying but no one during the game is saying anything…the field seems to be very messed up!!! Shame on the announcers…making the players on both teams look bad…and lastly why would any tv entity have BM do any announcing…he drives me crazy
Who are the announcers in TV? They’re so fck up! They cannot say anything about the players’ game! Are they really watching the game? Or they just can’t say anything?
Couldn’t agree more with what Rod mentioned previously. Worst field conditions I’ve seen for a game of this magnitude given the time to prepare. Was THE major reason for a lack of offense – has to do with the fact that in order to run, catch & score, players need to be able to perform those functions in an upright mannor. Shame for both teams – they were all slipping around that greasy field like sweaty 4 year olds on a gym mat.
I agree if you watch the game the players were slipping all over the field beginning on the first kick off.
Several injuries were caused by the poor management of the field.
The reason there was very little comment about the field conditions was that the announcers were being paid by the Bowl committee. No bad press….
