BRAZIL VS CHILE: Five-time World Champions Brazil almost had a perfect record in the 2010 FIFA World Cup group stage. They have beaten North Korea in the World Cup opener, 2-1, Cote d”Ivoire in the second round, 3-1, but they just had a scoreless draw game against Portugal on the final game. They will face Chile in the knock out stage and the winner will face Netherlands in the quarterfinal round which will be held on July 2 in Port Elizabeth.
Galatasaray midfielder Elano, who scored on their first two games, will miss their team game against their fellow South American outfit Chile. Like Elano, Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo is also out. Both of these players are still suffering from an ankle injury. Benfica midfielder Ramires and Barcelona defender Dani Alves will be their substitutes.
Though World Cup scorer Elano is out of the game, Real Madrid midfielder Kaka and Santos forward Robinho will be back for the team. Kaka and Robinho missed the Portugal draw. Kaka was suspended and Robinho was rested. But these two men are back in the field and they will be one the key players to watch for in this game.
Meanwhile, Chile head coach Marcelo Bielsa will probabaly stick to his 3-3-1-3 formation which may break the Brazilian wall and may gave them several for chances to score. Do you think it will be enough to win against Brazil?
