Esteban Cambiasso, Argentine footballer and currently playing for Internazionale as defensive midfielder, was said to have confronted Italian oil tycoon and Inter president Massimo Moratti to remove coach Rafael Benitez from the team. Reports said that Inter is struggling in the hands of coach Benitez and they need to do something before they were dumped out of the Italian Serie A.

Moratti cleared the issue regarding Cambiasso’s request for removal of Benitez. He pointed out that Cambiasso has nothing against Benitez and the issues regarding the removal of coach Benitez are baseless. He also added that Cambiasso and the rest of the team have full respect for coach Benitez.
In a recent interview made by ESPN, Moratti said:
“I wasn’t aware he had said anything of the sort. The players would never say certain things, and nor would I allow them to.”
Inter currently sit in the 6th place in the Italian Serie A with 5 wins, a whopping 5 draws, and 3 losses. Inter has a record of 18 Italian league titles. The team remained unbeatable in Italy Serie A for about 5 consecutive seasons but now, they were 4 points behind AC Milan, 3 points behind Lazio, 2 points behind Napoli, and 1 point behind Juventus and AS Roma. They have a slight poor performance in the Champions League but were able to keep back on track. Inter ranked next to Champions League Group A top team, Tottenham Hotspur. Cambiasso did a great job last Wednesday night when he scored for a goal in their game against Twente Enschede and led the team into the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Inter is looking forward for their next game. They will face Werder Bremen at Weserstadion as Champions League resumes on December 7, 2010 at 7:45 p.m. (GMT).
