France and Mexico will meet at Peter Mokaba Stadium on June 17, 2010 for the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament. The winner will join Uruguay at the top and the loser will join South Africa at the bottom (it will depend on the number of goals they will score).
France had a scoreless draw game on June 11 against Uruguay (View Uruguay vs France). Coach Raymond Domenech has top caliber players but it seems that he didn’t use them well. In their World Cup opener game, Thierry Henry and Florent Malouda weren’t on the starting lineup and were put on the field with 20 minutes left in the game. There is some kind of issue going on in the French team. There are some rumors that some of the players like Malouda, Henry, and Gallas had a problem with Domenech. There is known to be simmering discontent among senior players at Henry’s demotion to the supporting cast, while former skipper Gallas is refusing to speak to the media, apparently angry at Evra’s appointment as skipper. According to Malouda, the rumours of a bust up on the eve of Group A opener is not true.
Malouda will be part of the starting lineup in their game against Mexico but the team’s record scorer, Thierry Henry, will remain on the bench with Bordeaux midfielder Yoann Gourcuff.
