Major League Soccer (MLS) club announced on Monday that Houston Dynamo midfielder Geoff Cameron will miss the entire season due to injured right knee. He will undergo a surgery later this week to repair a torn posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) and he would need 6 months or so to be 100% fit again.
Dynamo Chief Operating Officer Chris Canetti said Cameron was diagnosed with a ruptured right PCL and will miss the remainder of the season. Canetti said that they were disappointed to lose their star player most specially at this time were some of the players like Brian Ching, were also out due to injury. He hopes that Cameron will be back and play for their team next season. For now, they’re looking for midfielder as Cameron’s substitute while he was out.
Cameron was injured in Saturday’s match against Chicago Fire. He was entering his first season as a starting midfielder after earning Major League Soccer (MLS) Best XI honors for the 2009 season. He received his first call up to train with the senior US national team on December 22, 2009. He was once again called into camp for the February 24, 2010 game against El Salvador.
