Jamie Carragher Ready To Leave Liverpool

By: Misty Walsh @ Sunday, March 7, 2010

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher made his Liverpool debut against Middlesbrough in 1997 and now he has just one year remaining on his present deal. But Carragher wouldn’t bother if his hometown club decide not to extent his contract.

According to a recent interview made by Sunday Times, Carragher said that the club will give him a new contract if they wanted to. He’ll play his best for the club but if it happens that they decided not to keep him, then it will not be a problem for him.

“It’s a club thing,” he said. “It’s down to them. I’ll keep playing and see where it takes me.”

Carragher held the national record for most caps at under-21 level in his international career. But in 2007, he decided to retire from international football because of lack of appearances under England national team manager Steve McClaren.

In the 2009-2010 season of Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup, Carragher haven’t made any goals for the team. Is it the reason why the Anfield club still can’t make any decision if they will still keep him or not?
