Norwegian striker John Carew is Aston Villa’s hero of the day. Carew was able to tie the score at 2-2 and stopped Wolverhampton from winning the game at their home game today, March 20, 2010. For Villa it’s better to have a draw game than to lose in a game.
Wolverhampton looked set for their first victory over Villa for 30 years but it did not happen today after Carew’s 82nd minute goal that sealed a 2-2 draw. Carew started to score at 17 minutes in the first half. It was a good opening goal and gave Villa a confidence boost.
Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov received a yellow card after challenging Kevin Doyle, resulting a free-kick Wolves drew level. Then Wolves center back Jody Craddock tied the score at 23 minutes. Central midfielder James Milner’s own goal at 38 minutes put Wolves on the lead.

With eight minutes left before the final whistle, Carew took a shot and make it a draw. Wolves manager Mick McCarthy was upset now that his team remained at the 17th place in the Premier League. Wolves midfielder David Jones admitted that he was very disappointed about what happened. They almost win the game and they have excelled great efforts to stop Villa from scoring but still it’s not enough.
