Malawi will face Guinea on September 5, 2009 which will be held at Blantyre at 2:30 PM (12:30 PM GMT) for the 2nd stage of 2010 World Cup Qualification CAF. Coffi Codjia from Benin will be the head referee of the said match. Komi Konyoh from Togo and Alexis Fassinou from Benin are his assistants and the fourth official of the match will be Crespin Aguidissou from Benin as well.
It is a very important game for Guinea because they will be eliminated if they lose or have a draw game with Malawi. On the other side, it is also an important game for Malawi for they will be eliminated in the World Cup Qualification CAF if they do not win against Guinea. Malawi’s first and last appearance in nations cup finals came in the year 1984 which took place in Cote d’Ivoire. But even Guinea or Malawi will win in this match, if Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) do not lose with Burkina Faso they will still be eliminated.

As of now, Malawi is the lowest team in Group E in African zone (CAF). They have 3 losses with no win. Guinea is on the third place with 2 losses, 1 win, and a total of 3 points.
