Manchester United midfileder Paul Scholes has signed new one-year deal with Manchester United. This contract extension with the Red Devils proves that Scholes still enjoys playing and still loves to stay with the club. There are some rumors that he will retire at the end of the season but these rumors vanished after he signed the contract that will keep him until 2011.
United Boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes that the club can still benefit from Scholes’s vast experience in the field, thus, he deserves to stay in the club.
This is what Ferguson said in his recent interview:
“We are delighted Paul is staying on for another year.
“His form this year indicates his ability and his enjoyment of the game are as strong as ever. That’s every reason to stay on. There was talk about him wanting to retire, but when you see his enjoyment in training and playing you can see how much he wants to carry on.”
Scholes told the press that he is pleased to have signed for another year. He is feeling good and still enjoys football.
Scholes is a one-club man, having spent his entire football career with Manchester United. He made his debut for United in the 1994–1995 season and made 17 league appearances.
