ROBINHO, JUAN, AND FABIANO
Brazil didn’t disappoint their fans because they were able to qualify in the 2010 FIFA World Cup quarterfinal round which will take place in Port Elizabeth on July 2, unlike other giant teams which were eliminated early in the tournament. Italy, the 2006 World Cup champions, and France, the only nation to win the three most important men’s titles organized by FIFA (FIFA World Cup, FIFA Confederations, Cup, and Olympic Tournament), were busted out in the group stage while England and United States failed to win in round of 16. Brazil’s 3-0 win over Chile at Ellis Park stadium only showed that they’re the biggest threat to the remaining teams in the tournament.

Juan thumped a bullet header from Maicon Douglas Sisenando’s corner that powered into the top corner. He scored in the 35th minute followed by Luis Fabiano’s goal in the 38th minute. The Sevilla FC striker beautifully took a shot after Real Madrid attacking midfielder Kaka cushioned the ball into his path.
The first half ended with Canarinho leading with 2 points. La Roja were expected to score in the second half after showing some surprise movements before half time but they cannot not stop Dunga’s speedy strikers from getting in. Their world stopped when Manchester City striker, Robinho, scored in the 59th minute. It was Robinho’s first goal in this tournament and he could not have done it without the help of Benfica midfielder Ramires who surged forward from the halfway line and passed the ball to him.
Chile was considered the weakest team of the five South American teams in the World Cup round of 16. Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina were all qualified in the quarterfinal round while Paraguay is still hanging on the knockout stage waiting for their game against Japan tomorrow.
