TCU Horned Frogs showed how defense can win a game in the 2011 Rose Bowl in Pasadena against Wisconsin Badgers. In the end of the Rose Bowl 2011, TCU won the bowl game from Wisconsin and finish undefeated with 13-0 record. The Horned Frogs is the eighth team to finish undefeated in the current season and did not have a chance to go and win a national championship.
2011 Rose Bowl is TCU Horned Frogs first appearance and for Wisconsin Badgers this is their seventh time in Pasadena.
This year’s Rose Bowl in Pasadena California is one of the toughest game to date. The highest score is only 20 points and the game is tight from the first to the last quarter. TCU Horned Frogs led the match with 14 points in the first quarter against Wisconsin’s 10 points. The Badgers trails the lead and scored only 3 points in the whole 2nd quarter from 37 yard field goal by Philip Welch.
The third quarter is on TCU scoreboard when they scored a 1 yard run from Luke Shivers and a successful kick by Ross Evans in the 11 minute mark of the fourth quarter. Down with 8 points, Wisconsin’s Montee Ball scores a late 4 yard touch down with only 2 minutes left in the fourth quarter. With only 2 minutes left , Badgers gambled to tie the game with the 2-point touch down but TCU’s Tank Carder made a perfect timing jump and swatted Badger’s final pass for a 2 point touch down.
