Burnley suffer first day defeat in 2009-2010 Premier League in the hands of Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium. Stoke City team proved that veterans of Premier League is still better than newcomers. Almost 28,000 viewers attended and witnessed the triumph of the team.
Ryan Shawcross, Stoke defender, gave Stoke their first score, 19 minutes in the game. He was able goal with with the assist of Liam Lawrence‘s free-kick. 33 minutes in the game when Burnley’s defender Stephen Jordan accidentally put the ball into his own net giving Stoke their second goal. Owen Coyle, Burnley’s manager, tried to reorganized the team on the second half. They were doing great in second half and they really have positive spirit but they can’t really find a hole to sneak in.
