El Salvador is his parent’s homeland and it was his parents favorite team. Just as when the team invited him to join them, Alvarez made a quick decision. He played in San Jose Earthquakes in MLS before so the US lineup like Landon Donovan knows him and he knows their play too. It was his first qualifying ever and he hopes he can do his part on Saturday.
